Vintage 2013

Written by James Eckersley
Picking's done for 2013!  20 tonnes all up (almost 3 times the 2011-12 vintages).  We've picked our best ever crop of Syrah, our first Sangiovese and Viognier.  We're very much looking forward to making some great wine with them!!It has been the driest 9 month period on record here, and our award-winning irrigation system really paid dividends.  One of our goals this year is to complete the installation of NIS.  Another is the completion of…

Vintage 2013 update

Written by James Eckersley
Well we've picked all the whites, and they're looking really good! One of the best crops we've ever had, actually. Small amounts, but great flavours - and as you know we're all about quality over quantity! (We average 1 tonne to the acre, while your typical irrigation district vines will crop at 10-15t/a.)We had 50ml of rain in the middle of it, but it hasn't had much effect - which shows how dry it has…

2010 NR Chardonnay

Written by James Eckersley
Just tasted the 2010 NR Chardonnay - lovely! Soft, delicate yet powerful and lingering. We're quite pleased, especially considering what a horrible season it was for whites. We actually lost 70% of the whites! We think this one upholds our reputation for big whites that age well and go great with food.
