'Rain, rain go away go away, come again another day!' is what all lovers of Victorian wine should be singing at the moment. We had over 80mm in two days (which was not forecast!) which is not good at this time of year. We have grave fears for the remaining Chardonnay and Semillon. The full extent of the damage should become clear in a week or so.
On a more positive note, yesterday we bottled our first ever preservative-free wine - and it's looking good! We have just 448 bottles of a spritzzy Pinot Rose that we will put down for 6 months before releasing. It's another experimental offering from the creative mind of Winemaker Ken Eckersley.
Cheers!
